Studio Rules:

Students:

Dress Like a Dancer: We require that students carefully observe our dress code outlined in this contract.

Be on Time: Dancers must arrive at class on time or at least 5 minutes before to change into dance shoes, use the bathroom, dress properly, remove jewelry, and neatly put their hair back.

Good Attendance: Regular attendance is vital to student progress and group choreography. Attendance is necessary for students to show improvement. Absences and tardiness can hold back the entire class.

Be Clean: Being respectful to others means wearing clean tights and leotards to each class. Leotards and tights should be washed between classes. Attend to your personal hygiene. Shower and use antiperspirant or deodorant (keep some in your dance bag) before coming to class.

Be Neat: Keep your hair pulled back off your face and neck and firmly secured. Hair flying about can be distracting, get in the eyes and cause problems with spotting freely during pirouettes.

  • Dance shoes should be worn only in the studio or on stage. Wearing dance shoes in a parking lot or on a street or sidewalk can damage the shoes and bring in dirt that can damage the dance floors.
  • Kenzie’s Dancin’ Out encourages all dancers to balance dance with other activities and sports, while also taking their dance training seriously.

Our Manners: Dancers are polite ladies and gentlemen. They should not lean against the wall, barre. Sitting down unless directed to do so is not acceptable. Talking, whispering, or having private giggle sessions during class with friends is considered rude behavior.

Personal Items: Place dance bags on the designated shelves/cubbies in the studios and waiting areas. Please do not leave bags or shoes on the floor. Cell phones must remain in dance bags during class. No cell phones are permitted in the dance room!!

Drinking Water During Class: It is good to drink water before and after class ends. If the teacher allows, or if it’s an appropriate time in class, students may get a drink. Water bottles must be in the classroom prior to class beginning.

Permission to Leave Class: Dancers should always ask permission to leave the studio while class is in progress.  Always try to speak with the teacher before class if you need to leave early. Dancers may not leave the classroom to find a water bottle, or check their cell phones.

ABSOLUTELY NO gum, food, or drinks other than water are permitted in the studio.

Parents:

***Our lobby is limited in size. To minimize congestion in the waiting area, we kindly request that no siblings or additional family members enter the lobby or waiting room at this time. Only one guardian is permitted to remain in the lobby while your child attends dance class, or you may choose to drop off your child and attend to errands. Alternatively, you may wait in your vehicle until class concludes.  If a sibling must wait,  we ask that a reasonable level of quiet be maintained to avoid disrupting ongoing classes. Please ensure that you clean up after your children. It is essential that children not enrolled in class are supervised at all times. They should not run, climb, or otherwise cause disturbances or damage to the facility. Please keep walkways clear and free of clutter. If they adhere to our studio guidelines, we kindly encourage you to wait in your vehicle until your dancer's class has ended.***

  • Parents are not allowed to enter ongoing classes as this creates a distraction for dancers. If you have a concern, please call or email the studio. If you need to remove your student from class early, please inform the teacher before class starts.
  • For any questions or concerns, please direct them to our office manager, Ms. Tamara. She is well-informed about the happenings at Kenzie’s Dancin’ Out and will be able to address your inquiries. If necessary, she will consult with the owner, MacKenzie, and follow up with you.
  • All practice reminders are sent out the day of practice. Please be sure to check the band app and your email as well..
  • Parents and siblings are asked to maintain a reasonable level of quiet in the lobby area so as to not disturb classes. Clean up after your children. Children not in class must be supervised at all times. Do not allow them to run, climb, or otherwise disrupt classes or damage the facility. Keep walkways clear and clutter-free.
  • All students and accompanying family members are expected to be kind, courteous, and respectful while on the premises.
  • Please pick up your children on time. Be available in the lobby area to receive students when dismissed from class. Students under 12 years of age will not be permitted to meet you in the parking lot.

ABSOLUTELY NO gum, food, or drinks other than water are permitted in the studio.

As with any program, steady attendance is a requirement for success.

■ Having good attendance is important to the progression of the dancer. As each week

skills are taught that build on the previous week’s skills in choreography. Dancers with

poor attendance slow the advancement of the class and inhibit personal growth.

■ Failure to meet such requirements can lead to dismissal from the program or adjustment

in level.

■ Parents/Guardians are responsible for communicating absences to the dance studio office

or Instructor directly.

■ Any student who misses 3 consecutive weeks or more may be required to forfeit their

class space.

■ Recital: More than 6 absences between March 1st through May 1st can result in removal

from the June 2025 Recital dance performance piece.

Sickness/Injury Policy:

  • INJURY: If your dancer is injured, they are still expected to attend class to observe.
  • SICKNESS: Students who did not attend school due to illness should not attend dance class. If your dancer shows signs of contagious illness fever, nausea, chills, etc please keep them home to get well, and keep from spreading the illness to the other dancers.
  • Parents, please use your best judgment when deciding whether to send them to class or not. lf Your dancer has a fever. We recommend refraining from sending them until they are fever-free for 24hrs.
  • Please contact staff to inform us of any absences. Students are allowed to make up class time, please contact us for available classes.
  • Please bring a doctor's note confirming the sickness or injury.
  • No tuition will be reimbursed due to a sickness or injury.

Between classes, all surfaces are wiped down and the studio is disinfected. At the end of each day, the entire studio space is cleaned thoroughly.

Inclement Weather:

In the event of inclement weather, the studio may close to ensure your safety. For updates regarding inclement weather, please utilize our communication methods, including the BAND app, email, Facebook, Instagram, or our website. We will provide timely notifications regarding any closures. Classes that are missed due to inclement weather will be rescheduled in the same manner as regular absences. Please note that classes missed due to inclement weather will not qualify for tuition reimbursement.

Makeup classes:

We allow makeup classes for absences due to illness, travel, etc. These classes are allowed to be made up. Make-up classes should be done within the same month of the absence. If the absence is within the last week of the month, the make-up class can be done any time within the following month. Please be sure to communicate with us via BAND app or email to let us know of absences and which class you are planning to use as your makeup class as soon as possible.

Fundraisers:

We will have two fund-raisers per dance season. We encourage all dancers to participate. Kenzie's Dancin' Out strives to minimize additional expenses associated with Showcase and Recital fees, which encompass costs for props, venue rental, and costumes. Fundraising is completely optional. If you decide not to participate in fundraising, please be aware that you will be accountable for your child's costume and showcase/recital fees. **** It is important to understand that refunds or supplementary funds will not be issued to your dancer from the fundraisers. If a dancer participates in the fundraising activities and exceeds the necessary amount, please be informed that any surplus funds will be allocated to Kenzie's Dancin' Out, LLC.*****

Dance families are prohibited from organizing their own fundraisers that utilize the studio's name to raise funds for their children, as this would be deemed fraudulent activity.

Kenzie's Dancin Out LLC holds the responsibility for all fundraising activities associated with the company. Once a fundraiser is initiated, dancers may engage in fundraising efforts; however, once the fundraiser concludes, no further fundraising activities should occur under the studio's name.
